MP3 audio-book format
MP3 is most widely used sound
player format. Almost all portable audio players and desktop media players are MP3-capable
player. However, the format is not bookmark capable. For this reason
many modern hand-held audio
players will simulate a bookmark when the player is stopped and left to time-out
till it powers itself down. In many cases the player saves its
current state and restarts from the saved state after power-on. Most
desktop software packages also allow the playing of the file to be restarted at
any desired point. Under these conditions, MP3 is a still a highly useful
format for audio books.
